近日，云南省科技厅重点新产品开发计划项目“生物能源木薯新品种（系）筛选”通过验收。该项目旨在通过引进国内外木薯优良品种（系）资源开展比较试验，从中筛选适宜云南省热区种植的木薯优良品种（系）3-4个，有效推动云南木薯产业的持续健康发展。
项目实施3年来，共从国内外引进保存木薯品种（系）资源101份。通过在云南省保山市试种、观察及初步评价，从中选择15份品种（系）在红河、普洱、西双版纳、临沧、保山、德宏、楚雄等云南省木薯产区的不同生态类型的8个试验点开展多点试验。根据试验结果筛选出适宜云南木薯产区种植的优良新品种（系）为SC205、SC8、GR4、GR5、GR911、SC5。筛选的优良木薯新品种（系）产量比目前云南木薯平均单产提高30%以上。
