今年讷河种植的74万亩马铃薯喜获丰收，总产量可达130万吨以上。
近年来，讷河市为适应市场和加工业的需求，努力使马铃薯种植布局向规模化、标准化目标发展，种植区域向铁路沿线、加工企业周边集中，为实现马铃薯转化增值铺就了一条成功之路。马铃薯种植面积由1998年的3.5万公顷增加到2008年的5.2万公顷，公顷产量由过去的18吨提高到现在的30吨，总产量已增长到130万吨以上。这个市先后投资1000余万元，装备种薯生产设施，建立脱毒种薯基地6.5万亩，年可生产适应市场不同需求的种薯12万吨。
这个市还在马铃薯的精深加工上做文章。全市现有各类马铃薯加工企业1447家，大型水晶粉丝生产企业2家，精制淀粉加工企业29家，民营粉坊1279家，年可实现产值3.9亿元，占全市工业总产值的30%。全市构成了“港进”牌水晶粉丝、“家良”牌粉丝、“雪花”牌淀粉、“碧雪”牌淀粉四大品牌优势。其中“港进”牌水晶粉丝、粉皮产品打入北京、上海、广州、武汉等大中城市，并且批量销往美国、日本、加拿大市场，年出口创汇80万美元。据初步测算，讷河市马铃薯产业每年可拉动市域经济增长9.1亿元以上。
